Amazon Seller Assistant is becoming an operating agent

Amazon’s upgraded Seller Assistant can now continuously monitor and help manage inventory, pricing and account health rather than simply answering seller questions. Amazon is also making seller capabilities available through Amazon Quick and a plugin for Anthropic’s Claude.

This reinforces yesterday’s OpenAI dots theme. Marketplace management is moving from:

dashboard → human notices problem → human acts

toward:

agent monitors → exception detected → recommendation/action → human oversight.

For agencies, this changes the value proposition. Manually downloading reports will become less valuable.

Designing the rules governing what the agent should do with those reports becomes more valuable.
